Bycatch Reduction
Initiative
The CIBBRiNA (Coordinated Development and Implementation of Best Practice in Bycatch Reduction in the North Atlantic, Baltic and Mediterranean regions) project (2023-2029) is a crosssectoral collaboration of the fishing industry, scientists, policymakers, environmental NGOs and other key stakeholders working together to minimise bycatch of Endangered, Threatened and Protected (ETP) species in the North-East Atlantic, Baltic, and Mediterranean.
The KFO is part of the Pelagic Trawl Case study and acts as a link between the fishing vessels and crews and the other scientists and stakeholders involved in the project to facilitate active participation.
